Living in Jaffa, riding her bicycle to work every morning, Adi Shavit is a lead data scientist in PayPal. She is an amateur artist and runs an underground club in the PayPal office named ‘HaRamkol’.
What are you working on these days?
I’m a lead data scientist in PayPal’s Risk department.
I analyze huge amounts of data to gain insights that help us provide our customers with the safest online shopping experience possible
What was your first position In the Startup-Nation?
Everything I know and everything I am in terms of the Israeli start up nation sphere is thanks to PayPal.
I started working here 3.5 years ago, as a Risk analyst, and am totally in love with this place.
What was your first job ever?
When I was 15 I started working as a private tutor for Math and English for middle school kids. I realized then I love teaching.
What life event or moment affected your life the most?
Meeting my life-partner, Ben, is definitely the most defining moment in my life.
Ben is one of those people who knows the secret of life.
He is a clinical psychologist to-be, which means I have free therapy at home whenever I need it, and I need it a lot 🙂
Best advice you received or would like to share?
Be your true self and trust yourself.
If you are currently ignoring that small voice shouting in the background, telling you to change jobs, or breakup, or anything else – even if really don’t want to – that small voice only wants what’s best for you, so listen to it.
